Personal Robots Program

 

At Willow Garage, our focus is on developing technologies to make devices behave

autonomously in the everyday world that people inhabit. We have done some preliminary work on three types of devices (cars, boats, and personal robots) and are currently focused on personal robots.  The key attributes of Personal Robots are that they are safe and capable: they need to work in close proximity to people without the danger of causing serious injury - and they need to be able to perform services for people in a human environment. Today we are working closely with Stanford University's STAIR (STanford Artificial Intelligence Robot) project to make this vision a reality.
