TurtleBot.com launched with hardware designs and TurtleBot partners
We’re happy today to announce the launch of TurtleBot.com, which gives developers new ways to access TurtleBot information and obtain TurtleBot hardware. If you are looking to purchase TurtleBot hardware, you can order parts or assembled kits from our new licensed vendors. We have also posted open-source hardware designs if you want to build your own robot from scratch.
We are excited to announce our three partners who will be producing licensed TurtleBot parts, kits, and fully assembled pre-installed robots. These partners are:
- Clearpath Robotics: selling kits and fully assembled robots
- I Heart Engineering: selling parts and kits
- TurtleBot.eu: selling kits and parts for Europe, including producing a special metric version.
TurtleBot.com provides direct access to purchase parts from these partners.
TurtleBot.com also gives you access to everything you need to produce your own TurtleBot-compatible robot. You can access designs for all the hardware, including the laser cut plates, machined aluminum standoffs, and cable drawings. You can also download full electrical designs for the gyro and power regulator board. All of these documents are released under a FreeBSD Documentation License as part of our TurtleBot Open Source Hardware initiative.
We look forward to working with the TurtleBot community to use this open hardware and software platform to create new applications for robotics.
