Mario Prats

Mario Prats is Research Engineer at Willow Garage. He holds an Engineering Degree in Computer Science (2004), M.Sc. in Advanced Computer Systems (2006) and a Ph.D. degree, all of them by the University of Jaume-I (Castellon, Spain).

His research interests are sensor-based control for manipulation, robot-environment physical interaction and visual servoing applied to assistive robots in household environments. More concretely, his research is mainly focused on how to increase robot manipulation versatility, autonomy and robustness in human environments, by means of novel control approaches using vision, tactile and force feedback. His work was recognized with the Georges Giralt PhD Award in 2010, and an Honorable Mention in the Robotdalen Scientific Award in 2009.
